Rooted in an interest in Curiosity Cabinets (vast rooms and cupboards where early collectors arranged their gathered objects and oddities), Artificialia considers collection and categorization.  Using discarded objects gathered from the side of the highway, along with photographs taken there, I compile a photographic catalogue of my collections.  Arranging and photographing the collected objects and locations creates a new context for each specimen - an attempt to discern meaning from a monotonously ordinary, yet mutable and chaotic environment.
